Tile floor patterns

tile floor patternIf your floor is clearly visible, and not cluttered-up - as is the case in many modern apartments, that have a large amount of furniture stuffed into minimal space - you might want to consider the idea of tile floor patterns.

What is a Tile Floor Pattern

A tile floor pattern, as is obvious from the name, is a pattern created by flooring tiles, laid down in a particular manner. These patterns can be complicated and spectacular, as seen in many of the floor mosaics found in ancient structures - if you are ambitious enough, and have enough empty space, you might want to try replicating some of the better known designs - no matter how complicated the design, you're certain to find help and instructions online.

Various Tile Flooring Patterns:

Of course, you can install tile flooring patterns even if you don't have a lot of floor-space visible; it simply needs to be subtler. You can use a one-tile or two-tile pattern to break up the monotonous stretch of monochromatic tiles. Or you might even want to create a small design in the middle of the room, which can serve as a centre for all your furniture - maybe a simple floral design, or curlicues might work, or you could purchase patterned tiles and set them down in a completed picture. These tiles are available in packages at almost any store that sells floor-tiles and/or wall-tiles; some of them have the pictures of various divinities, and several other designs and pictures are also available - landscapes, for instance, and cartoons; think how brilliant a Disney figure would look on the floor of a child's room.

You can use tiles to create a border around the room, adjacent to the wall. This can be done in a colour that is a match for the colour used in the skirting of the wall, thus making it appear an extension thereof. However, you can certainly also use various other tile flooring patterns - a Greek Key design will lend your room a certain attic charm, where a bright colour can relieve the sobriety of your décor easily; a scarlet tile floor pattern, for instance, on an otherwise-grey floor.

Tile flooring patterns can be as varied as the installer's imagination, and, almost inevitably, they make the room they grace look striking.
